Today could be a risk when browsing Cyberpunk 2077 subreddits; currently they’re being infiltrated with nudes protesting Reddit itself.
CD Projekt RED are gearing up for the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on 26 September. We had an opportunity to experience Phantom Liberty first-hand at Summer Game Fest and noted its promise as “shaping up to be Cyberpunk 2077’s victory lap”. Since then we’ve learned Phantom Liberty will bring back one of its key base game characters along with new romantic interest for V. Cyberpunk 2077 players without purchasing DLC may also benefit from improvements and features being introduced, though you probably won’t hear much discussion of them on Reddit right now.
As reported by Kotaku, Cyberpunk 2077’s subreddit was recently switched over to an NSFW rating following arguments by mods who claimed it dealt with nudity and gore and suggested its discussion thread reflect this fact. While that statement could seem indisputable at first, reddit mods soon began targeting it saying its settings shouldn’t have been set as such – an argument with which few could disagree if not for its consequences being severed from any discussion forum altogether.
Reddit has seen declining usage since recent API changes; with blocking ads from appearing causing irreparable harm. Therefore, s of Cyberpunk 2077 subreddits are protesting by posting nude pictures to show of an NSFW tag and demonstrate against Reddit itself.
Mod Tabnam wrote, “According to them, seeing your favorite subreddits turning NSFW may be too much for you to comprehend. The Mod Code of Conduct messaged us demanding we switch back because ‘you may have been confused by all of the NSFW content you’ve been seeing’ – although unfortunately they didn’t allow us a response so that we couldn’t explain this was actually for an 18+ game and no content had changed at all since. Furthermore this should have been changed previously but was simply never thought off until recently
“Until Reddit changes back, we are in violation of its sitewide rules. But since this game contains sexually explicit content, and thus violates that rule,” they noted. They did later add a warning though asking s not to post outright porn. Tabnam further commented, saying NSFW content within the context of playing can be fine: want to show us some V’s tits? Go right ahead! want to terrorise Borgs with your Katana while you swing your dick precariously swinging all over? Don’t forget tag me – but this isn’t intended for outright porn.” Thus concluding it all.
